KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 13:43 KJV” Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
The Lord described one of the rewards of the righteous, as that, they will shine as the sun in the kingdom of the Father. This is a glorious state that must motivate everyone to live an upright life. The prophet Daniel had an insight into this revelation and said in Dan 12:3 KJV, that “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. In Daniel 12:3 the Spirit speaking through Daniel said, those who would be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament. Now in the book of Proverbs, 11:30, the scripture teaches that he that wins souls is wise. Dear child of God, from these scriptures, we are enjoined to win souls or turn many from darkness to light. The reward is that you would shine as the sun. Remember that our Lord Jesus gave His last message to his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. Many Christians are not involved in the business of saving the lost. Start sharing your faith and encouraging others to give their lives to Jesus.
The Lord remarked that the righteous shall shine as the sun. The righteous in this context is the one who believes in the word and does what it says. Everyone who bears the title Christian must live as one. Righteousness is fundamentally expressing the love of God. It involves being sincere and truthful to all persons. The righteous never slanders or backbites his neighbour. He does not seek for an undue advantage over his colleague. It is very shocking when our society and even Christian teachers support cheating in examination. They pay money to examination invigilators to allow students to teach(cheat) each other in exam halls. Failure in an examination is not always a satanic package, it is at times a lesson in the path of life that prepares an individual to become a better person later in life. A desire to be rich overnight wrongly is what is destroying our nation Ghana. Christians must exhibit the righteous life of God.
These days, it becomes more and more difficult to find very upright people. This is rather unfortunate. It is a sign of a lack of knowledge of God and subsequently faith in God. It is one’s deep conviction about who God is, and His demands for our lives that produces right acts, even in very trying moments. We must understand also that righteousness as a gift of God and the nature of Christ has been imparted to our spirit. Philippians 3:9 KJV” And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” This should be a strong motivation for a righteous life. Another motivation is the fact that we would shine like the sun in the kingdom of our Father. Dear child of God, this life is a lease period awaiting our real destination, which state of life there, will rather depend on how we lived our lives when we lived in this temporal period, here on earth. SO LIVE RIGHT ALWAYS
I am the righteousness of God. I therefore live an upright life. I believe in God and therefore relate to all persons and things on the bases of my faith in God. He does not expect me to cheat, and so I do not cheat.
Titus 2:11-12 (KJV). For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Philippians 2:15 (KJV). “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”
