YOUR ALL FOR THE KINGDOM

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 13:44 (KJV). “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.”

We continue with our walk with Jesus through the gospels. At this point, the Lord gave a parable about a man who found a treasure hidden in a field. To get the treasure he had to sell everything he had to buy the field. This is a call from the Lord to give our all for the sake of the kingdom of God or serving God. The revelation here is that, the man discovered the treasure in the field. You must discover the Supreme importance of knowing and serving Christ.

Apostle Paul gives a similar action he took in order to fully participate in his relationship with Jesus. “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,”- Philippians 3:8 (KJV). Apostle Paul says he has found the treasure and that is Jesus. He said knowing Jesus is above everything. He has lost all things for the sake of knowing Jesus. He says he counts all these as dung. No pursuit of any form or value is comparable to the knowledge of Jesus our Lord. Knowing Him is power.  Daniel 11:32.

Knowing Jesus surpasses all knowledge

Please note the following, our Lord Jesus gave His life to purchase us. To really have Him, we must give up everything to possess Him. Anything dear to us enough not to be given up, in pursuance of Him disqualifies us. “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”— Luke 9:62 (KJV).

How many of us really qualify to be part of His kingdom?  Many Christians have all kinds of things competing with the master to have our hearts. Many men cannot turn down a UEFA soccer match to go and pray, and some ladies cannot turn off their soap opera to meet with the Lord. Apostle Paul was talking about issues that gave him so much pride and dignity, yet he says he counted them as dung. (Phil 3:3-9)

In Matt 19:16-25, the Lord asked the rich young man who came to him to go sell his possessions, give them to the poor and he shall have treasure in heaven. This man went away sad, because he had great possessions. The truth is that his heart had been possessed by what he had. What has possessed your heart, that you can’t forsake to allow the Lord to totally possess your heart?

Remember, you cannot have the treasure (Jesus) in the field by giving away part of your possessions, you need to give away ALL, to be able to have Him. Matt 13:44

CONFESSION

Lord Jesus you are my everything. You are my wisdom, my peace, my health, my wealth, even my very life. Nothing can compete with you in my heart. My life has a meaning because of you. Thank you, my Lord, for opening my eyes to the truth.

Colossians 2:8-9 (KJV). Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
