DO NOT MURMUR

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 6:43 KJV” Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.”

The Lord tells the multitudes never to murmur among themselves. To Murmur is to complain about something. It is done by speaking to yourself in a low tone. Murmuring is a direct flouting of the instruction of scripture that says in all things give thanks to God, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thess 5:18. Murmuring gives way to Satan or demons to take a full grip of you and destroy you. Murmuring stands in the way of God, preventing Him from working out His good and loving plans which is to bring you to an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11.

The Lord in Philippians 2:14 tells all Christians to do all things without Murmuring or disputing, for it is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. What does this scripture really mean? God says, He is working through us. When one murmurs, he or she fails to submit to the power of God at work in Him. God’s ability is therefore curtailed through one’s murmuring.

In every incidence, there are two main influences that seeks to have the advantage over us. These influences are God and Satan. When one expresses faith and appreciation in God, the Spirit of God takes control of the whole situation to make it work out for his good. (Rom 8 :28). When the individual chooses to murmur or complain, the devil takes charge of the situation and makes everything workout for the individual’s destruction.

There is no advantage of any kind in murmuring.

When the Israelites left Egypt for the promised land, most of these Israelites kept murmuring against God and Moses throughout the journey. Numbers 14:27 KJV” How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.” The end result of such disobedience was their inability to get into the promised land.

Do the following actions to keep you from Murmuring :

1. Believe in the absolute goodness and love of God

2.  Decide to thank God in every situation.

3. Accept that it is a sin to murmur, and that nothing would cause you to murmur.

THOUGHT: MURMURING IS A TRAP OF SATAN, AND IF CAUGHT IN IT, WOULD DESTROY YOU
