WHOSE SERVANT ARE YOU 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:34 KJV “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.”

In today, s study, we take a further look at the above topic. Our key scripture presents sin as a master that men do serve.

Indeed, sin is a person, a spiritual entity that exercises rule over men. Sin is not just an act.

When Cain, got envious of his younger brother Abel God came and explained what was expected of him, as well as the person behind his actions. Gen 4:7 KJV” If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.” The Lord stated clearly that sin is a person, and seeks his desires over men.

Every act of sin is spiritual adultery, between a man and the personality called sin.

This union defiles man, and also rebels against God.1st John 1:9.

Man was created to be a habitation of God, a means for God to express himself to His creation and to exercise His authority over His creation. Man serves God, by yielding Himself to Him. At creation when God blessed man to be fruitful and rule over the earth, it was God’s presence in Him that was to exercise that power and authority over creation.

Sin deprived God of His place in man, making man a servant to sin.

The Lord Jesus’ mission on the earth was to restore and rescue men from the grips of sin. Men are God’s love creations. The sin of men breaks the heart of God, and makes a man a slave of the one who hates God, so much. Serving sin ,is the worse thing to happen to a man. It brings man so low to be a slave to any thing at all

SERVING GOD IN RIGHTEOUSNESS KEEPS MAN AS KING OVER CREATION.

What is God’s provision for breaking sin’s power over man? Jesus on the cross bore our sins, and also became sin. (John 1:29, 1st Corinth 5:21). His death was the slaying of the personality, sin. Rom 6:6 KJV” Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” This is what the Bible calls the circumcision of the old man Colossians 2:11,12. We are in Christ, and so we died with Him Gal 2:20. The bible says we must reckon that we are indeed dead to sin, and actually yield our members unto righteous . In Christ, we have become the very righteousness of God. The nature of sin no longer reigns over us. Do not allow it to control you.

To stay free from sin, declare always that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, and sin has no place in you. Keep saying it even, if you seem to be struggling with any sin. James 3:2

CONFESSION

My Lord Jesus, died to bear my sins and to take away the body of sin. I died with Him, and so free from that power called sin. I am the very righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and never a servant to sin.

THOUGHT: IT IS GOD ‘S JOY AND A BLESSING TO MAN WHEN A MAN IS FREE FROM SIN.
