KEY SCRIPTURE: Jas 4:1 KJV “From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?”

Soulish activities   manifest in the affairs of most children of God, and sadly deprive them of so much blessings. In James 4:1-4, the apostle James lists the reasons some children of God, pray without results. Verse 1, talks about war within the members, or in their hearts, or better still their emotions. These conflicts go on in the souls of such people. These things create competition among people of God. Some say, I have a big church than you have. Another says I have more cars than you. Some even get so low as saying I am more powerful than you. Sadly, these things happen among men of God.

James 4: 2 says, “Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.” There are many who are fasting and praying, as I write, just because others have gone ahead, and they must overtake them. The apostle said it rightly, ye kill, and have not. Why the war within us and among us. All these striving and envying are soulish activities that has no significance before the Lord. Someone prayed, ‘Oh God give me this or that, to wipe away my shame’ Please just consider this; such a person is concerned about her or his shame that must be wiped off, not the word of God that must be honoured.

Soulish activities are a real canker that must be taken far away from us. Many people claim they are believing God, or may be acting in faith, yet are sadly operating out of their souls, how? Anytime a person is not at rest, but anxious about what he has put before, the Lord, then he or she is functioning out of his or her souls. The soul deals with the mind, emotions and the will. The mind cannot be at rest, when the condition lingers on. True faith comes from the spirit, and it is always at rest. Heb 4:1 KJV” Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.” IF you find yourself anxious and not able to be confident that God has answered you, then you are definitely operating from your soul. God does not function directly with the soul. He communicates with the Spirit, which intend conveys the information to the mind, the emotions, for the will to carry it out.”

CONFESSION

I do not function from my soul. My whole being is surrendered to the Spirit of God, and so it is the Spirit that directs and controls me.
