KEY SCRIPTURE 1Co 2:11 KJV For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”

We learned in our previous study that although the conscience is to be a judge over the actions of an individual, it could be made very weak, depending on one’s promptness to act on what the conscience says. God’s word and our response to it, is the sharpening tool for our conscience. When a child of God, keeps strict obedience to the conviction from the conscience, he or she develops a very fast sense of knowing what is right from wrong, even before he acts. Heb 5:14 KJV But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Another sensitive part is the intuitive faculty of the Spirit. This is the ability of the individual to know an issue without any physical awareness. Once again, it is the word of God that trains this important faculty to grow in sensitivity. When one grows in living by the word, his spirit begins to pick information with ease. Another important spiritual activity that would develop the intuitive property is prayer and fasting. Fasting basically humbles the soul and the body and releases the spirit to be more alert and agile. Many spiritual mysteries are brought to the fore through the practice of prayer coupled with fasting.

Communion with the Lord is also very vital, yet this could easily be done from the soul or the flesh. Things done outside the spirit’s influence are done on the following grounds or motives.

For self-glory, self-pleasure, or some fleshly advantage. Anything done from the spirit gives all glory to the Lord and no personal advantage is sort for. Once again it is the knowledge of God’s word and its diligent practice that enables the child of God to have a true communion with the Spirit of God.

In all that has been said above it is the word that brings the dividing line between soul and spirit, and enables us to relate to our heavenly father in reality.

CONFESSION

God’s word is God in spirit, sound, and thoughts given to us. it is the main means I allow my spirit nature to function totally. I will give more attention to the word, so I will be able to express my spiritual personality very well.

THOUGHT: THE WORD IS SPIRIT, AND GIVES A BETTER EXPRESSION TO OUR SPIRITS FACULTIES
