TESTIMONY OF TWO 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:17 KJV ” It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.”

In our previous study, we saw that our confession of our faith is the second testimony that we give about what the word has said. This is what brings us victory, since the confession of two is declared as truth, or established. It therefore means we should be very careful we do not agree and add our voice to the testimony of the flesh.  Such an agreement to the flesh would also be established, yet that testimony would result in failure.

In numbers chapters 13 and 14 the ten other spies beside Joshua and Caleb confessed what their eyes was beholding. Num 13:33 KJV “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight…” Their confession was an agreement to their senses. It was a confession of defeat and failure. The following is what the Lord said about their testimony. Num 14:28 KJV “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:”. They said they would be killed if they went to the land, and so they all died   and never entered the promised land. Joshua and Caleb lived to enter the new land because they gave a testimony in agreement to the word of God.

Christianity is called the great confession. We are instructed to hold fast the confession of our faith.

What are we to confess?

1 We are to confess what God in Christ has wrought for us

2 We are to confess What God through the Holy Spirit can do through us

3 We must confess what we are to the Father in Christ

4 We are to confess what God can do through us or what the word would do in us.

5 We are to confess the mighty deeds of God

6 We are to confess every answer to prayer

We must be very bold with our confessions if we are to win over the devil. Make it your policy to confess only that which glorifies God. It glorifies God when you confess, that you are a man or a woman of faith and there is no doubt or unbelieve in you. It glorifies God to confess that God is always with you and would always honour His word.

Dear one take time to feed on the word and daily spend some moments agreeing to what the word has said through your confession. Your firm stand on agreeing with what God has said would always put you over the works and activities of the devil.

CONFESSION

I affirm that the word of God rules every law on this earth, for by it everything came to pass. I confess therefore that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I am the righteousness of God  through Christ Jesus. No disease have the mastery over me. I am a master of the devil and demons in the name of Jesus. I am born of love and have no hatred for anyone, even those who hate and despite fully use me.

THOUGHT: AGREEING WITH GOD’S WORD, MAKES GOD TO AGREE WITH YOU

FURTHER STUDIES

Mark 11:23 KJV ” For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

Prov 18:21 KJV “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

TESTIMONY OF TWO

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:17 KJV ” It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

In our key scripture the Lord Jesus said it is written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. He was specifically referring to Deut 17:6, which says, by the testimony of two witnesses an account should be accepted as true and that the testimony of one man may not be established. The Lord was establishing that He does everything with the Father. It is what the Father says that He agrees to. It is actually to give His consent to the Father in agreement. This idea brings to bear a very important principle in our spiritual walk in the Spirit.

 It is called confession.

This is not mainly talking about confessing our faults, although that is also agreeing with the convicting of the Holy Spirit. The Greek word for confessing is ‘Homologio’.  It means to say or speak in consent to what has been said. It involves saying the same thing as has been said.

According to the scripture the declarations of scripture are true. When one speaks in agreement to what God has said   that word must come to pass. The scriptures admonish us to hold fast our confession of our faith. Hebrews 10:23 KJV ” Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) ” The word ‘ profession’ in our above scripture is the same Greek word Homologio and is also translated confession.

Now there is another testimony, that is the testimony of our flesh or the senses. This kind of testimony is with great defect, because it is based on what is seen, heard, tasted, smelt or touched. It is called sense knowledge. It has no knowledge of the activities of the Spirit. This kind of testimony often contradicts the testimony of God or the word, yet that is the testimony that most men normally agree to. It has often led men into failure and defeat.

When one says, I have a bad temper, he would demonstrate a bad temper. This person who is born from above, has the recreated spirit of God, and so God ‘s word says he does not have a bad temper but has longsuffering. He must rather agree with God and say I have a good temper. This is what it means to confess our faith or the word of God.

The following scripture shows us how our heavenly father operates. Rom 4:17 KJV” ……. even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” God our father calls those things that are not seen as though they are. We must do likewise. This is confessing in line with our faith, and we must keep at it. Our Lord Jesus is the High Priest over our confession Hebrews 3:1.Learn to say what God says in His word. If He says you are the righteousness of God ( 2 Corinth 5:21), do not say you are a sinner, say ‘ I am the righteousness of God.’ If the scripture says the nature of the Spirit in you is love (Gal 5:22), do not say you hate anybody, say, I love all men. Hold fast to what God says you are.

CONFESSION

In Jesus name, I hold fast the confession of my faith. The Spirit of the Lord God dwells in me, and has given me the ability of God. I am filled with the wisdom of God; the power of God and the miracle power of God works through me. I represent my Lord Jesus, as I use His name to stop every work of Satan.

THOUGHT: SAYING WHAT THE WORD OF GOD SAYS, MAKES GOD WORK THROUGH YOU.

Psalms 103:20 KJV ” “Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.”

JUDGING WITH THE FATHER 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:16 KJV “And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.”

The Lord said in our key scripture that He Judges with the Father. The Father gives the instruction whiles He carries them out. One other way for this to be done is to be ruled by the word of God. Jesus is the word of God in a human form John 1:14 KJV “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” The following is the hallmark of the word, which would be seen in anyone who chooses to be ruled by the word. There would be the revelation of God’s glory, expressed by true love for all, in all sincerity. The word of God is the breath of God expressed in thoughts and vocabulary. The word is God. John 1:1. The dominance of the word in you coupled with a readiness to do what it says makes you like God.

The scripture has continually and abundantly stated that staying true to the word makes you a success.

Jeremiah 27:7 reveals the blessedness of the man who trust in God or His word. It says he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and spreads its roots by the river, he shall not see when heat comes. This means difficult times would not mean anything to him. He has a continual supply of life from the word. The economic crunch would not crunch him, nor the evil going on in the world, whether corona, or wars, none of these things dictate to Him. He has a heavenly government that he submits to. It is called the kingdom of heaven.

Remember that to judge, in the light of our discussions also means to determine, act, conclude, or respond. Dear one, choose to determine all things according to word of God. Prov 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. He said in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy path.

Please learn this truth, Satan rules all who are not submitted to the word.

He therefore has absolute dominance over them.

Those who have refused to be submitted to Satan, have rather submitted to God through His word, and so have the mastery over the devil, to even cast him out of their experiences. Jas 4:7 KJV “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

BE VERY CONFIDENT ABOUT THE WORD, submit to it and REFUSE TO ALLOW SATAN OR HIS ANGELS TO HAVE ANY PART IN YOUR LIFE. Refuse sin, disease, lack and poverty, and always declare you are exempted from every work of Satan.

CONFESSION

Glory be to God; I am in the world but never ruled by the god of this world. By God’s word, I do not know of the bad economic situations, or the power of diseases, for I am under the government of Heaven through God’s word.

THOUGHT:  ALWAYS ACTIVATE THE POWER OF GOD BY SPEAKING OUT HIS WORD.

JUDGING WITH THE FATHER

John 8:16 KJV “And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.”

One of the most powerful awareness that anyone can have is to know that the heavenly father is with him. The Lord said He does nothing on His own, but in union with the Father. Someone once said, God with you is majority. As a matter of fact, God with you makes you unbeatable. David the psalmist sang that “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me.” The Lord Jesus was on top of every situation because of the awareness of the Father’s presence with Him. At the tomb of Lazarus, He made one of His public prayers. He said Father I thank you, that you have heard me. He added that, so that the people would know that the Father has sent Him John 11:41,42. This means He lived in the consciousness of the Father’s presence that, it was natural for Him to command Lazarus to come back to life without making any prayers to the Father as He did.

The Lord Jesus said, He judges all things with the Father, on the bases of what the Father tells him. John 8:28 KJV ………., and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.” How does He do it. He asks the Father within Him. The Father in Him is the Holy Spirit within Him. It goes as an inner dialogue. There are certain instances that He just had to act on the word of God, and there were other moments that He had to enquire about what to do. He has lived with and in the Spirit all throughout His being, and so He knows or hears perfectly what the Spirit says. This is what He means to judge with the Father. The operation is that He stands in the stead of the Father to act. Whatever He does is for the Father and so He does it with the full backing of the Father.

Every Christian has the same love relationship from the Father.

The Father loves us just as He loves the Son. John 17:23 KJV” I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” Please come to think about it, God loves you just as He loved the Son. This means God has no favourites, yet, it is your response to His promptings that make each son experience His presence and power differently.

You have the same audience with the Father like Jesus had. He backs you just as He backed Jesus during His earthly ministry. Please from today never entertain fear or be hesitant about acting for God, for as He did in the days of Jesus, He would do likewise for you.

You are in partnership with Him and so you are simply unbeatable.

CONFESSION

The Father is with me. He is in me. He loves me just as He loved the Lord Jesus. He responds to me just like He responded to the Lord Jesus. In the name of Jesus, I take His place now and bring His blessings, healing and peace to men. Thank you, Father.

JUDGING BY THE FLESH 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:15 KJV” Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.”

To judge in this contest, is to determine or conclude from the grounds of the flesh.

The scriptures have continually taught that it is death to be led by your flesh or the senses.Rom 8:6 KJV” For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Whenever a man is ruled by his flesh, he gets enslaved to all kinds of deplorable things that makes life very hopeless and also feels helpless. The flesh is the   centre of appetites which are expressed through the body. Every form of emotional pain, like unforgiveness, bitterness and worry are all signs of fleshly ruled person.

Failure to get to any anticipated heights in life, is as a result judging matters from the flesh.

According to the scriptures Rom 8:12 KJV” Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.” We are people of the Spirit and must allow the word of God to lead us in all we do.

The main challenge of the dominance of the flesh is to maintain, that you are weak.

When any child of God makes statements like, I am helpless in this or that aspect of my life, then he has accepted the witness of the flesh and would surely be defeated by the devil.

Apostle Paul said, I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

You are given away by what you say.

Divine ability to conquer always follows the man who acknowledges he or she is of the spirit. and so, responds to all things in line with the word of God. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND SAY. A man is snared by the words of his mouth.

Our discussion today is to stop judging anything from our fleshly point of view. We have to stand on the scriptures to relate to matters in this life. The scriptures say sin shall not have dominion over you. The moment you accept what the scripture has said, by also saying and acting in line with what the word says, your flesh may be telling you something different, yet you would soon realise it has lost its control over you.

This is what faith is all about (that is a, refusal to live by what you feel, see or think naturally but to do what the word says).

The same applies to your response to diseases. If they seem to come all over your body, yet you boldly declare that you are healed by his stripes and you sincerely rejoice in your heart that the scripture is settled. You would soon see that, that pain, or whatever it is, is gone.

Failure would be a thing of the past if you continually stand on the word and keep saying you have conquered in Jesus’ name.

CONFESSION

God’s spirit rules me. I am in charge of my life because I life by faith. My faith keeps conquering every opposition for Sin or sickness cannot Lord themselves over me. Poverty has no place in me. I am a master of all devils.

THOUGHT:  CHOOSE TO WIN ALWAYS BY PLACING GOD’S WORD FIRST.

JUDGING BY THE FLESH

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:15 KJV “Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

The Lord’s statement in our key scripture about the Pharisees, reveals why men fail. Life is spiritual.  The book of Romans 1:18-24 teaches us how men are fallen into sin. It shows us how man refused to accept God as his ruler and as a result has corrupted his judgement and lives a very sinful life. Man weds animals, and sleeps with them. A man changes his form to become a dog, or any beast he chooses. This view of things is fully endorsed by no mean a body, but the UNITED NATIONS. When men think they are wise by doing these things, they have indeed become very foolish according to the bible. The cause of all these is judging from the senses.

This state of living by the senses is transferred into the house of God as well. Many church folks are ruled by their senses. The five senses, sight, taste, hearing, smell and touch is the main leader of men. These give birth to reasoning from the natural. Instead of being led by the word of God, most church people are led by the flesh.

If a minister of God prays, screaming, O’ God if you do not go with me then I am not going. Or if he cries to God, please be with me. Another person also says, our prayers can hit the sealing of our rooms and come back to us. This is purely a demonstration of a sense ruled children of God. God has said, I am with you always. It is a statement of fact. You need not pray for him to go along with you.

If you are born again then your presence means God is there.

He is always in you. You are only judging from the flesh to think God is somewhere and must be invited to be with you. Matt 28:20.

How can your prayers hit a sealing of a roof? He answers by his power which is at work in you. Eph 3:20 KJV “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”

His power at work in us, is our faith in His word.

This is why it is according to His power at work in us, because various people respond to the word at different levels. This is a revelation knowledge. Stop judging things by the flesh, like Jesus said, and allow His word to have the rule over you.

CONFESSION

I am born from above. I have a renewed mind, and so I do not judge anything from the flesh. I am what word says I am, I have what the word says I have, and I can do whatever God’s word says I can do. I am a success for God in Jesus name.

THOUGHT: THE WORLD WAS CREATED BY THE WORD, AND SO, TO BE RULED BY THE WORD IS TO RULE THE WORLD.

1Corinth 2:14 KJV “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

1Corinth 3:3 KJV “For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?”

TALKING TO THE HARD HEARTED

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:14 KJV “Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.”

The Lord Jesus had various types of audience to speak to. He spoke to Pharisees like Nicodemus who was ready to accept the truth, so He took time to explain the whole truth to him. John 3:1-16, He talked to the woman at the well (John 4), and because she was not hard hearted, the Lord opened her up to the way of life. His disciples were also given the opportunity to know the ways of life. These people in our key scripture, were just fault seekers and the Lord did not open up to them. Mark 4:11 KJV “And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:” In Mark 4:12 the Lord added that such people were not supposed to know the mystery of the kingdom.

Jesus came to communicate the Goodnews to all men yet certain people made up their minds not to accept the truth even if they were made to see the truth. To such people the Lord always dealt with them from the peripherals. He would not perform a miracle before such people. Matt 7:6 says ” Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”

From our key scripture the Lord said to them I know my record is true, for I know where I came from but you do not know where I came from. We see that He was dealing with such people as outsiders. They were not prepared to humble themselves to the truth.

In our times there are some people who have the same attitude, such people twist every truth you give them. They see miracles and would find some way to explain it away. The Lord did not explain matters into details to them. Always know the kind of audience you are dealing with. Some of them would need the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit to win them in the secret of their hearts. To such people trust the Holy Spirit to win them, but when you speak to them   do so as Jesus did. Do not go into an argument with such people.

PRAYER

Father, give me the discernment to know the type of people I am speaking to. Help me to know the proper approach to talk to them, help me by your Spirit to give the right words to them, trusting the Holy Spirit to speak through me to them.

OPPOSING SCRIPTURAL TESTIMONY

KEY SCRIPTURE: Joh 8:13 KJV” The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.”

After the Lord Jesus declared he is the light of the world, the Jews spoke to Him that He was testifying of Himself and that His testimony was wrong. Jesus was only echoing what the Father has said about Him. The truth is, He was not going to stop saying what the Father had said about Him, because it is always the witness of two that establishes what God has said about us.

(God is the first witness, and you are the final witness)

When Jesus made these confessions, He was establishing all that the father had said about Him Throughout the gospel of John the Lord Jesus made unique statements that God had said about Him.

He made statements like, I am the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the Father, but through me. This is a very important statement, that would have attracted the anger of the scribes and Pharisees yet He was not going to be moved by what they would say. The Lord Jesus, never allowed the faces or the expectations of the people to control His actions. Jesus said He is the resurrection and the life. when He was at the tomb of Lazarus. His success in life was a product of the truth that He continually said.

A closed mouth is a closed destiny.

Dear child of God you must also learn from whatever God has said about you and boldly say it in private and before men. In actual fact you say what God has said boldly before men yet, with a humble heart.

The Lord says we are from God, and greater is He who is in us than he who is the world 1st John 4:4. Say this boldly before the adversary and whatever the enemy may raise against you. If a wrong thought or a feeling of unworthiness hits you, say to the devil that you are the righteousness of God in Jesus name. Tell him you have the very righteousness of Jesus. When a sickness tries to Lord itself over your body declare to it that you have already been healed by the stripes of Jesus. Say it before anyone who happens to be present. If Christ bore your diseases, then you can’t bear what He bore. Say it boldly I can’t be sick. Some eye brows may be raised, but do not mind it, for it is your life which is at stake. You would always have what you believe and boldly say.2 Corinth 4:14. God always calls those things that be not as though they were, and indeed they came to pass. Rom 4:17.

Do not even wait for calamity to raise its head, start declaring all the glorious prophecies that the scriptures have testified concerning you.

CONFESSION

I thank you my heavenly Father for your abundant blessings. Thank you for bringing me into your kingdom where no evil power can Lord itself over me. You have made me a success and crowned me with your glory. I boldly declare that I am a success and by your stripes I am healed from every disease. My life shines so much to light up, a world in darkness, glory be to you O God.

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

KEY SCRIPTURE: Joh 8:12 KJV “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

After the Lord had succeeded in freeing the woman, He said to His audience that, He is the light of the world. Light dissipates darkness. Light means to be informed or to know the truth. Jesus   is the truth. Truth always liberates and His presence stopped Satan from continuing his works

Again, when the Lord said He was the light of the world, He was declaring the most positive statements anyone could make. He was saying I am the answer to the problems of this life. He also meant He is in charge of everything to say you are the light of the world means you are free from the molestation of the negative forces and powers of this life. It is saying that He can’t fail and He succeeds in every endeavour He undertakes.

He added that anyone who follows Him or anyone who would learn from Him and believe in Him will have the light of life. Such person would not walk in darkness. What are we to learn from Him? We must also learn to speak like He did. Learn to act like He did. Learn to love like Him, because He gives us the light of life, Hallelujah. Dear one if you have placed your trust in Jesus then you have likewise been transformed into the glorious nature of the Son of God as well as translated into the glorious kingdom of the Son of God.

Dear child of God what a life we have been brought into, to have the light of life. We have an unconquerable life. We have been made leaders of all in the dark. As light we have been made to take charge. This must be your considerations and also your confessions. He says you are a city set on an hill which cannot be hidden. Say it boldly like our master said. I am in charge in this life. Darkness has never overpowered light. It naturally disappears in the presence of light. Evil cannot dominate me under any condition. God made me the light of the world (Matt 5:14). Nothing can change it. No man can change it. You are the only person who can refuse to admit what God has made you. From today stop looking down on yourself. Do not allow your current life situations to make you fearful or shy to stand boldly and say I am the light of the world. I am filled with answers. I am a solution to many questions in men’s hearts., for I have the light of life. Glory be to God.

CONFESSION

I have come to Jesus, and have received the light life. Sin sicknesses, devils cannot overpower me, for darkness has never understood light. My words illuminate those who are in darkness. I am filled with the love of God.

GODLY LOVE HATES SIN

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:11 KJV “She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

Dear patrons of this devotional, we are still looking at a walk with Jesus through the gospels. The Lord at this point turned to the woman and asked ” where are those thine accusers? has no man condemned you? He then added neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more. The Lord could have justified himself by saying, I am the only one that can condemn you.

He could have interrogated her to find out what happened.

Please do not poke your nose into the sins of people. A sinful act that comes from Satan should never be an issue of interest. There are some Christians who sit to discuss the wrongs of others and even make comments on what occurred.

Dear child of God no sinful acts of Satan or his demons should be of interest to you.

If you talk about it then it is to destroy, or help somebody out of it.

To merely spend moments talking about the wrong things Satan uses people to do, with fun and interest is actually a fellowship with that very spirit.

You can easily be overtaken by that error.

The Lord would have nothing to do with what the people were accusing her about.

The Lord lifted her soul by telling her, neither do I condemn you. The bible made a prophecy about the Messiah when He comes in Isaiah 42:3 that” A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth”. A reed is a very tender shoot, which is basically filled with water, and a smoking flax is a fire source that is struggling to light up. It is only a very wicked man who would bruise that which is suffering and about to be quenched. The woman had suffered very serious trauma from these religious zealots, she was already down, like a bruised reed the Lord would not add salt into injury.

Be sensitive to the plight of others

After the Lord had spoken to lighten her up He added, go and sin no more. The effect of sin is more severe than what those religious zealots had wanted to do to her.

Sin kills spiritually and then physically (Gen 2:17).

Sin separates man from God and makes you a habitation of every evil and wicked spirit if that sin is not stopped. (Rom 5:12, John 13:27) Sin gives birth to horrible diseases to afflict its culprits. Joh 5:14 KJV “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”.

CONFESSION

Jesus has shown mercy on me, as a result of that, I have renounced every hidden thing of dishonesty, and I live to please God. I am very sensitive to the plight of others and do not put them down.
